•    Degree Calibre or Diploma in Packaging Technology
  •    Sound knowledge & understanding of the technical aspects of a broad range of packaging components, machinery and manufacturing techniques.

Prior Experience & specific skills  

  •    Knowledge & Understanding or relevant packaging legislation & industry standards.
  •    Knowledge & Understanding of the interaction of influence of packaging on production efficiencies and abilities.
  •    Proven project management skills, able to manage several complicated tasks simultaneously.
  •    Able to successfully communicate and present both written and verbally, information to technical and non-technical individuals, internal and external.
  •    General commercial awareness.
  •    Competent MS office user / experience in Acrobat Illustrator an advantage.

  •    Support the Business Plan goals, by ensuring that the packaging component requirements are based on the most cost effective and appropriately specified as primary, secondary and tertiary packaging solutions.

Key Responsibilities

   Role and responsibilities

  •    Follow through packaging development process and finalise specifications upon successful testing and evaluation.
  •    Manage packaging evaluation process within project timeline:
    • Packaging sample and specification sheet request & follow up.
    • Lead QA and Production and other in-house packaging evaluation processes.
    • Prepare test reports.
  • Manage standard reference samples procedure.
  •    Document control; manage specification sheet, evaluation forms log and filing.
  •    Support packaging technical details as required; product offer sheet, IOB, product gross carton weight computation.
  •    Co-ordinate artworks execution process and coloured components.
  •    Upkeep packaging library.
  •    Contribute in packaging quality problem solving activities.
  •    Active participation in other ad-hoc packaging projects as deem necessary.
